Hi there, my name is Kathi and actually I find it kind of strange to directly and exclusively write about myself. I mean, already the first sentence suspiciously sounds like self-help group meeting (Hello Kathi…). But then this association maybe is not too wrong at this point, as after all we are writing here with the objective of saving something. Well, essentially this is about the planet, but since we are part of the whole thing, it is also a little bit about ourselves.
I studied biology and afterwards this Master, which is impossible to summarize in one word: ‚Global Change – Ecosystem Science and Policy‘. When someone asks me, I usually just say ‘climate change and so’, because if I start to recite the whole phrase, no one is listening to me after the first two words anyway. Now, I can actually choose who or what I am, which can be quite handy depending on the situation: biologist, ecologist, environmental- or climate scientist or just crisis manager. Everything is somehow correct, but nothing is really significant. Because, what really pushes me cannot be simply defined with any of these job titles.
I want to change something – in a positive way. Thereby, I don’t only want to observe, read and study, no, I want to act. And with that, I better start with myself.
What I use is my conviction and my optimism, combined with a good dose of stubbornness, which makes me doing it, when I set my mind on something. Or at least makes me try with all my might. My stories contain environmental-related information, hard facts, (apparently) irrelevant anecdotes and always a little bit of myself. It is about subjects that mean something to me, topics I am currently facing and which prey on my mind, personal experiences, daily challenges and the opportunity to overcome own limits.
It is my personal mission against consumer society, human ignorance and the fear of people to share. For a green attitude towards life and for a healthy planet.
All this, I want to share with you as I am convinced that, though everyone has to start with oneself, we will fulfill this mission together in the end.
